Feel Happy Now
3 easy steps to instant happiness.
You and I, as people, are born to be happy.
We just forget.
We are surrounded by love and joy at all times, much like a dolphin is always surrounded by water.
I, like many others, believe that happiness is our natural state of being. Gratitude, be it for a spouse, child, relative, or even for simply being alive, reconnects us directly and powerfully to that natural state. Notice how effortless it was to feel happy once you held your gratitude in your heart? At that moment, we simply dissolve any barrier to our direct experience of joy and appreciation.
The so-called search for happiness is largely misplaced. Our society and our training directs us mostly in an outward facing quest to find or acquire happiness. The cosmic joke is that the effort is taking us in the opposite direction.
Here is an example.
My dog loves to run on the beach. He runs as fast as he can. He gives every appearance of absoulute joy while he runs. He runs in circles.
If he was a person, you would expect him to be running towards some destination. Perhaps even telling himself he would be happy once he ran to whatever or wherever he was going. Instead, he just runs, living in a perfect moment. He experiences his bliss in the running, not in the getting to someplace else. His joy occurs exactly right where he is at any given second. He does not postpone his joy until his arrival someplace else. A smart one, that dog of mine.
Congratulations on loving yourself enough to value your happiness and joy.
